Call for Proposals to Do a Presentation at 2009 ACA International Conference

Exploring Places, Crossing Boundaries, Breaking Through
American Creativity Association March 2009

Proposal Submission Form

To be considered as a potential presenter for the 2009 Conference, please submit your proposal with the following in mind.

Conference Goal: To offer participants an opportunity to learn, observe, and engage in the art, craft, practice, and experience of creativity. Presenters and participants will learn from each other through interaction that has a focus on addressing the real challenges and opportunities facing our governmental, educational, artistic/cultural, nonprofit, business, and corporate sectors.

Conference Theme: Exploring Places, Crossing Boundaries, Breaking Through

The American Creativity Association welcomes proposals to present at its 2009 International Conference, "Exploring Places, Crossing Boundaries, Breaking Through." Each proposal should state clearly how the presentation will address one or more of the conference foci:

1. Exploring Places. How do environments, small or large (from the workplace at one end of the continuum to the city or even the nation-state at the other), influence creativity?

2. Crossing Boundaries. In this time of rapid change, why it is increasingly likely and necessary that disciplinary and organizational boundaries be crossed in order to achieve a breakthrough? How can place aid or hinder these crossings? Also considered is how these creative crossings shape creative work, and how the work shapes creativity.

3. Breaking Through. What are the factors that enable people to achieve breakthrough ideas and then turn these ideas into productive innovations in the face of often daunting obstacles? Exploring, understanding, and disseminating knowledge about the fundamental psychological processes underlying the creative process remains of primary importance.
